Am I the only one concerned....

that the government is taking over and bailing out large financial institutions? If I am understanding this correctly; the U.S. government, which is in debt up to Lady Liberty's torch, is taking over billions of dollars of mortgages, many which have been defaulted. Remember that these mortgages account for nearly half of all U.S. homes. Is this not nationization? Does this not alarm anyone else? Oh yeah, and where will this money come from? Well....if all of us good citizen will, whether we like it or not, pool our money together and give it to the government all will be well. We will call this pool of money taxes! I have said, and continue to believe, that this country has gradually been transforming into a socialistic society. In fact, there are socialists aspects already at work in our government today. And now we have the most liberal candidate in history running for President, who wants a national healthcare plan as well. What has caused this great nation to go in such a direction? We, as in We the People, have come to depend on the government for everything. We want the government to protect us, to provide us with jobs, to take care of us when we are sick, to take care of us when we are old. When anything goes wrong in this country, what do we do but look to the President or President to be and ask what they are going to do to fix all of our problems. I don't recall that as being what our forefathers intended. In fact, isn't that just the kind of thing that the settlers of this country were running from? But, what do I know? There is that one word found in both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution that, no matter how you try to interpret these documents, seem to bring clarity to their intent. That one word....Liberty! I believe Patrick Henry said "give me liberty, or give me death" and not give me liberty....that is unless things are going bad, in which case I ask that the government take control!
